Since, regrettably, I am 1 week behind on BSG, I just saw The Hub tonight. OMG so many tears at the end.

So, I hear I can watch the latest ones from Torrents. Any recommendations of a good Torrents downloader?

Artist Rendering

I'm listening to an old Penny-Arcade podcast. Before they scrapped an idea for a comic commentary on Spore, they were talking about the concept on a race of people who had a worship for hats. And over time, entered almost an arms race, of devoting all technology and resources into developing greater and greater hats. Then they talked about eventually hitting such a greatness that all of the hats are like hundreds of feet, maybe stories high. And then once you have hats that high, you have to have birds.

So, for you artist folk out there, anyone willing to take on the challenge of illustrating a giant megatropolis civilization of advanced bird-race people, living in towering hats, of a civilization far below the industrial clouds of machinery of the lower race devoted to making hats? That'd be a hell of a visual...

Party at Brooks, Bros.

We had an amazingly awesome successful event tonight for Gilda's Club. We had a HUGE turnout. Our store was packed with very loyal, dedicated, and fairly wealthy clients who were very pleased to be able to shop, get discount, and the real objective, their purchases were having 10% of our volume donated to Gilda's Club.
For my part, I was very pleased with myself. I really stepped up to the plate and freakin' PUSHED numbers, plus with it being more of a social event I was in total host mode and really going 100% in friendly and pleasant.
We had cocktails, our'derves, a live band. The store, with so many people dressed up and so many fine elements looks so special. And it makes me feel special that I kicked so much ass.

Now, since I know none of you actually care about Brooks Brothers, and likely give fuck all for cool organizations that my store, not the company, but us hosted a charity event for...

Here is art:
http://www.vimeo.com/993998
Hit play....

WTF is wrong with me? I am just not my usual self. I don't feel great and wonderful. I feel intimidated over other peoples good qualities rather than celebrating them. The odd thing, again, about my head space right now is that things are overall pretty good. But my perspective is just so messed up.

Insane Testosterone Spring

Well, the warm weather is finally really actually here.

I'm starting to get out of the little dark patch I was in. I've started back at the gym and that's really great for changing your mindset. I hadn't gone to the gym for a few weeks, because well...

Know those bills I incurred from Lady K? Well, they left me broke for quite a while. At the start of the month my rent check went through and I was left with -$66.00 in my bank account, my credit card maxed, and a week until I was paid. Trying to bring my finances back into balance, I had to stop cycling, going to the gym, and drastically reduce the amount I was eating to ration my food supply. I think the resulting depression was from low blood sugar, low physical activity, and also the mental aspect of holy shit I thought I was supposed to be past this kind of thing in my life.

Anyways, now things are on the upsurge. I'm back to working out every day. Cycling every day. Eating an enormous amount to bring my calories back up. And as a result, my libido would best be described as a searing red metal.

It's so bad, that I got in a fist fight with a car driver last night when I was cycling home. The man fucking hit me and honked, which if you are cycling UP a huge freakin' hill, you're already near murder in mentality. So that just kinda pushes you over. So, when the dude honked, after fucking hitting me, I hit his hood. Enraged at what I have done to his car, he got out and started throwing punches, all of which I parried, so I'm fine and completely uninjured and all of that. Conversation with avshalon agrees that I should probably watch it with the encounters with drivers as you never know what the fucking crazies have in their dash.

How's your spring?

Our Real Doom

It is my opinion, the entire ethanol movement is a push my corn farmers under the guise of environmentalism to increase profits. I believe cleaner power is better power. However... for the immediate energy crisis, I tend to believe this man more than the doomspeakers of oil.

<lj-embed id="66" />

It's not worth watching the whole thing. Just a few minutes in. He's mostly pitching his book, but I tend to believe, through refinement, hybrids, and increasing technology, that there isn't really an energy crisis. And as far as alternative energy goes, we already know solar power is the best thing ever. Start mixing all of those elements in and soon you have super happy planet. Some day.

Weather Krull Hates

You know, I like to think I'm in a place in my life where I'm not affected by seasonal depression. That I indulge enough in myself and my surroundings that I keep happy and afloat.

And then days like today come along, and it feels like everything is clearer, better, happier. Last week was a pretty crappy week for me. I kept some of my financial problems to myself because I was absolutely out of money and had little food supply to ration myself. And I felt so alone last week, it's ridiculous.

Today comes along, and I've been paid and I'm back on track to where I was right before the cat's horrible episode... and I don't know what it is, but I can think about things like friends that I'd like to hang out with, places to go. Things that just didn't occur to me over the last few weeks. There's entire groups of friends that I completely forgot I had any association with.

It's just odd how our own minds can really screw with us an awful lot, even when things are seemingly well. And it's also important to remember to take care of yourself every day. Stop letting those little things slide. Clean your place, get your things done, respect yourself.

This is a pretty blah post, really. But I feel at least on the mend. I'll feel even better with another hour of dousing myself with protein shakes trying to bring my calorie level back up. I was so low on food, that I stopped biking and going to the gym for a week because I didn't have enough food to maintain that amount of physical habit. Zoints.

Anyways, BSG is going to soooo rock tonight, so expect a happy post on that with partial update on my mental health. And now that I can see people and life again, I'm gonna get another social event going. A good one. Maybe finally do my birthday party. I take that one really seriously in implimentation and it makes me feel super special.

That was just a nice episode. I wouldn't even say good. It didn't really sway me much emotionally. It's just kinda following where the story is leading and nice to see. It was easier to watch than last week, though. Last week takes a bit of guts to keep into because it's so dark and dramatic. I guess I can't take that every week.

Saul Tigh's thread was the most interesting this week.

It's coming....

OMG hurry up and be 11!

Today was my first day back to work. I came home and Lady K wasn't in plain sight, I freaked, and found her around the corner eating her food. OMG yey! And now she's going to the litter box!

These simple things bring me great joy as she still couldn't walk on Thursday morning, so I was worried she'd have trouble today. She's purring now.

Dine Out to Death

Lady K seemed to have been in a much better condition yesterday, so last night I went ahead and went to Dine Out for Life with Dave, Kevin, and Peter.
Ugh, I am feeling it this morning. We ate so much food, I feel HORRIBLE. I'm going to the gym now...

We had a freakin' great time, though.

And Lady K is eating and drinking by herself.
