EDIT: SHIT, I forgot to add the reason why this guy is so down on James. And, now I can't find a link to the image. It was a shooped conversation between this Jackal guy and someone else in which the Jackal guy referenced his love for eating shit. http://brontosaurus.org/shiteater.jpg L-O-L in rapid succession!
And then you have this very sad generation who actually believe that their LJ friends list actually equate to actual friends in real life. When I see someone who has a profile that has over 1000 friends, all I can think is how sad it must be to have so few friends in REAL LIFE that you'd just keep friending people online in hopes of scoring _REAL_ friends.

I've been holding off on making a post about the stupidity of 20-somethings online, but I've seen enough. I just can't hold it in any longer. NOTE: This post is not directed at any one individual but rather a collection of incredibly stupid 20-somethings online. 1- First off, there's a new breed of 20-something out there. These kids grew up with the internet. I like to call them the "ipod generation". (You can quote me as the creator that phrase - I use it all the time). Anyhow - these 20-somethings seem to think that by posting every single second of their day online to their blogs via their cell phone cameras that they have achieved some level of internet celebrity. Well guess what - NO ONE IS LOOKING and NO ONE CARES. Serious - there are leagues of these kids out there now and they seriously think they have reached some form of self created celebrity. It's sad I know - and there are so many of them now. 2- Next up, and this one almost caused me to swallow my gum, I saw a video the other day of these stupid 20-something filming his cell phone call with someone (yes- I'm not making this up) and rather than actually laughing with the person on the phone he said "L-O-L" "L-O-L" "L-O-L" in rapid succession. I don't even know where to begin on that one. We've raised a generation of kids who are so used to typing "LOL" and text'ing "LOL" back and forth to each other that now when it's actually time to laugh, THEY SAID "L-O-L" instead. That's so sad and pathetic at the same time. Perhaps they think that makes them somehow cool. If so, I can honestly say - the 20-somethings of today are anything but cool. 3- And now to complete stupidity of the 20-somethings today. I feel like we need to educate these kids. Perhaps they need to pass a test before they can be released online without parental supervision. For example, the other day I actually saw this idiotic 20-something make an argument that he wasn't legally responsible for CONTENT HE POSTED ONTO HIS OWN WEBSITE, because he only posted a LINK to it on LJ. That might pass for LJ's Terms of Service rules (because they are not gonna care about things posted outside of the domain which they control), but that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the legal court system. If you PUBLISH CONTENT online, you are responsible for the content via publication laws and can be held libel as with any other form of media. Period. There's no debating this one. Doesn't matter if you post a link to it or not. The second you publish it online and make it publicly available you are legally responsible for the content. I just can't believe how stupid these 20-somethings are. It's like they don't live in reality. Well reality is about to come knocking up on their doorstep. Trust me. The video he was referencing in which James says "L-O-L" in rapid succession:
And, completely separate, but, just as bitchy: It seems to me that if your going to be a complete cunt on the internet, it would probably be best if you weren't trying to hide an old username (ssskinner) from 4chan.
( glitterglass is being an idiot ) I mean, I understand why she would want to hide that name. When you google it, the first hit is http://ssskinner.com/. And, from there it's very easy to get her full name. But, you'd think she'd learn not to be such a bitch.
While I'm at it, in case you've been living under a rock, animal_dreams is back. http://community.livejournal.com/sf_drama/1158213.html http://community.livejournal.com/sf_drama/1160321.html |
